Welcome
Welcome to the more documented adventures of the Rogers on the road. I have always been an avid journal keeper and amateur blogger (hopefully my LiveJournal is buried in the depths of the internet) and my husband Aaron took up vlogging last year. We decided we wanted to combine our artistic expressions into one place where we can share our adventures with our family and friends or whoever else stumbles upon our blog! Let us introduce ourselves.
Elizabeth Rogers
I grew up in Northern California with my brother and sisters where I learned to shovel snow to get to school, climb (and fall out of) pine trees, and swim in glacial lakes. I moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1996 but always held on to my Cali-girl roots.
In my years in San Angelo, I attended Angelo State University for my bachelor’s degree in Communication and Teaching and master’s degree Guidance and Counseling. In 2009, I moved to San Marcos to live with my sister Krista and start my teaching career. I taught in San Marcos for 4 years and was active with the Texas State Triathlon team. Now I’m a school counselor in Lubbock, Texas. My hobbies are time constricted due to working full time and pursuing my PhD, but when I can I run, cycle, camp, read, and travel my days away.
When I met Aaron in late 2012, it was an easy decision to move to Lubbock to start our life together. I am now pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education with a specialization in School Counseling. Aaron and I share a passion for traveling and plan to spend our life traveling and teaching!
Aaron Rogers
I am a Kindergarten teacher in Lubbock ISD and I have my masters in Curriculum Instruction. Besides teaching Kindergarten and going to school and spending time with my lovely wife, I fill my time with hobbies! I love to learn new things so I tend to chase hobbies like they are going out of business! I have roasted coffee, made cheese, knitted, cage fought, kick-boxed, rock climbed, built bikes, brewed beer, and at the moment I’m really in to sewing and vlogging.
I also love to leave to country as much as possible and I am really looking forward to traveling and building a life full of hobbies with Elizabeth!
How We Met
Written by Aaron Rogers
Once upon a time, in a Starbucks not too far away, a hyper Barista met a cute customer. She was in Starbucks picking up a large order for her class at Texas Tech. Of course the Barista was drawn to this Beauty and flirted with her until she had to leave. Many months passed and the poor barista did not see the beauty.
One amazing day the barista happened to be in Starbucks getting his check and he heard a small voice say “Hey, I remember you”! The Beauty was waiting in line for a wonderful coffee and the Barista decided to take this moment and learn about her. He found out that she was amazing and was into the same things as he. As the line moved on she was starting to move away and the Barista decided to take a leap of faith and give her his number. She looked excited and took his number and ordered her coffee. She texted that night so say thank you and she would call him the next time she was in town.
A few weeks passed and Christmas grew near. The Barista could not hold in his feelings of joy, he knew something was special about this girl! The day of Christmas came and the Barista decided to text the beauty. She texted back fast and a conversation started. Before he knew it they were talking every day and he was loving their conversations. A week passed and she asked him to be her date for a wedding (now mind you, they have not spent any time together). He said yes and drove to San Angelo to be her date. That night he ended up meeting her family, friends, and yes, fell in love! The rest of the story can be summed up with happily ever after.
